Land records are a valuable resource for genealogists. They can be helpful in determining where a family lived, what occupations the family members had, and who their neighbors were. This can help you understand how our ancestors lived and provide valuable context for your family history research.
Land records are documents which track the ownership of land over time. They include information on boundaries, heirs, rents, taxes or other payments due on the land. These records can also provide clues about a person’s social status and occupation by noting if they owned the land themselves or had to pay rent to someone else.
